Opening Art Studio “ Restoring in Progress “

After a being away for a long time, I returned to my home in Battambang to a house marked by time: a leaking roof, rain-cracked walls, and a yard overtaken by grass, in a way I realized it was mirroring my inside of mental exhaustion.

Living through the constant depressing news from war and instability leaves traces in us. This is not only my experience, but a shared condition in Cambodia, carried quietly by many of us.

Repairing the house became more than a practical task. It turned into a process of listening, rebuilding, and caring for myself, an act of restoring both a my home and my mindset As the structure slowly recovered, so did my internal one. In parallel, the wider situation around us has begun to feel more hopeful.

From this process, the art studio emerged, not as a finished place, but as a space for reflection, making, and gathering. I warmly invite friends, families, and fellow artists to visit, share time, and be present.
